Project Description

Brooks Bros reduces energy costs through LED Lighting upgrade

Brooks Bros is one of the UK’s leading timber suppliers offering a nationwide service. The Skelmersdale distribution site which serves the North of England covers 46,000m2 of undercover secure storage. The aim to reduce energy consumption was a priority for the recently appointed General Manager and addressing the lighting of the whole site was his first port of call. His mission was to find a solution that would not only reduce current energy bills but also improve the lighting quality and functionality both on the shop floor and within the offices.
After a site survey, GBIS were able to present a quality lighting solution which, by using energy efficient LED lighting meant that as well as improving the overall onsite working conditions, substantial cost savings could be made. The in-house design team and best buying meant that GBIS were both the most competitive and offered the best solution for the client. Brooks Bros now have a lighting solution which has given them 55% energy savings and offers a 2.69-year payback on investment.

GBIS Director Scott Earing Comments: “This project had to be won on both price and best solution, which meant we had to get our survey absolutely right, and this meant investing both time and money into understanding the client’s requirements. Anybody can give a price for swapping like for like fittings but if you don’t survey the site and listen to the client’s needs then you will never deliver their expectations. Another job is well done for the lighting division here at GB Integrated Systems Limited”.
