Another Seafood transformation at The Inn Harrogate

The Inn South Stainley, previously known as The Red Lion one of the latest acquisitions by The Seafood Pub Company. Situated in a prime location on the A61 between Ripon and Harrogate, The Seafood Pub Company spotted the potential and once the sale had been agreed immediately began an extensive program of refurbishment works. They approached us, for a full design and budget and we set to work on the fire, security, data, AV and lighting control systems without delay.

The job wasn’t without its challenges and with a limited turnaround time it meant all hands on deck, but with sheer hard work and determination, the works were completed on time and within budget. Just some of the systems installed were Honeywell Analogue Addressable fire alarm, monitored Intruder alarm, Nexan’s data backbone, Hikvision CCTV, ACT Access Control, Pro Audiovisual systems, and Rako lighting control.

The transformation from old to new is astonishing and a testament to the Seafood brand.

Control 4 Lighting

Lighting up the city.

Tattu – a swanky addition to Manchester’s restaurant scene. This independent family run business founded in 2015 by brothers Adam and Drew Jones offers diners contemporary Oriental cuisine.

Tattu’s award-winning approach to interior design is evident at first glance. The high-end décor features rich brown leather, dark wood panelling and commissioned artwork housed in ornate gold frames. GBIS’s remit was to install and commission the lighting control throughout the whole restaurant and with lighting being the first step to creating the right ambience within a restaurant environment, GBIS knew that it was imperative to get this right, in time for the launch of this exciting eating establishment, where the owner’s intention was to take their diners on a sensory journey from traditional East to modern West.

Team GBIS rose to the occasion and did what they do best. With assiduous attention to detail, GBIS programmed over 100 lighting control circuits with over 5000 lamps using Control4 lighting control technology. The end result is a restaurant that has the capacity to wow the most demanding of diners. Featuring ambient lighting throughout that cleverly highlights key features and design pieces within the restaurant, guests can expect not just great food but a dining experience like no other.

The feature blossom tree is the centre piece and will change seasons throughout the day as the lighting canons change colour, all controlled and programmed by GBIS in-house lighting engineers.

Are all on the menu at The Forest Fence. This former Indian restaurant set in the beautiful Lancashire countryside is the most recent acquisition by The Seafood Pub Company, adding to the company’s portfolio of 8 restaurants across Lancashire.

This modern brassiere and bar offers customers the chance to enjoy a Mediterranean inspired menu in a relaxed, contemporary setting with Seafood’s signature use of natural materials, muted tones and atmospheric lighting.

GBIS were contracted to design, supply, install and commission the fire, security, audio visual, music and lighting systems throughout.

It goes without saying that a restaurant needs to be appealing to customers and when installing these systems one of the key challenges is to keep the devices effectively discreet whilst still being fully operational. Being well versed in the installation of such systems in this type of environment, the project was completed in an efficient and effective manner, on time and within budget.

New Media Room in Cleavdon, North Somerset.
When an inquiry arrived from a homeowner in Clevedon, who was wanting to convert the rather dated ‘living room’ into a ‘media room’, GBIS set to work immediately, liaising with the client in order to fully comprehend the brief. Ultimately, the client wished for a ‘one-stop shop’ to take care of the design and delivery of a fully functioning ‘media room’. To create a room that offered an everyday functional living space but which could, at the touch of a button be transformed into an immersive home cinema. There was one added complication that the client had an existing audiophile Hifi that they wanted to incorporate for a two-channel listening space but not dedicated as one. The challenge was set.

GBIS put pen to paper and interpreted the client’s wishes, producing a design that met the client’s brief. As a result, GBIS was awarded the job. Completed over two phases, the end result is a beautiful, simple-to-use system that consists of Antham AV Amps, Paradigm 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos speakers, incorporating the customers own Dali HIFI floor standing cabinet speakers along with the latest 82” 4K Samsung UHD TV. In addition, the room boasts electric automated blackout blinds, hand-crafted from luxury fabric. Control4 Home Control formed the basis of the all in one control system in order to simplify and control all third-party equipment. GBIS engineers then added a Control4 video intercom at the existing gates, installed touchscreens both in the media room, kitchen, and hallway, all of which are controlled via the Control4 interface with an easy-to-use app.

The client now has a fully functional media room with enhanced cinema specifications at the touch of a button, and to die for automated blinds creating an immersive living and media space for all the family. Not to mention mental two-channel audio for those days when you need to kick back close your eyes and listen to the artist of choice.
