Job Title: Electrical / Fire & Security Engineer

GB Integrated Systems Limited is currently experiencing an increase in workload and pipeline projects, presenting an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic individual with excellent organisational skills to become a valued member of our growing team. This position is ideal for an ambitious professional who is a fully qualified electrician specialising in fire, security, and home automation engineering.

Based in the Northwest, GB Integrated Systems Ltd. offers comprehensive services encompassing design, consultation, supply, installation, and maintenance of all electronic systems including fire, security, comms, audiovisual, lighting control, and automation systems across all market sectors.

The successful candidate will be required to survey, install, inspect and test electrical systems and associated equipment under current codes of practice, manufacturer’s requirements, British and European Standards.

Travel and occasional working away are prerequisites to this role.      

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Survey a site, prepare and advise the office on the requirements.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring
  • Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts with the office.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and domestic electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards, including in fire alarms and emergency lighting
  • Rewire faulty electrical systems, such as lighting, heating systems, and alarms
  • Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements
  • Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction
  • Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions
  • Install electrical systems to wiring regulations
  • Provide professional assessments and advice for customers

Essential Skills Requirements

 

  • Minimum 10 years industry experience is essential
  • Possess working knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 17th/ 18th Edition, Inspection & Testing Certificate
  • IT Literate, Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and self-motivated
  • Full UK driving licence
  • DBS clearance (essential for working in schools)

Desirable Skills Requirements

 

  • Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements
  • Valid CSCS / ECS card
  • IPAF / PASMA / Asbestos Awareness certification

Thousands of businesses and homeowners across the UK are being urged to take immediate action following last year’s announcement that BT Redcare, one of the country’s leading alarm signalling services, will be shutting down on 1 August 2025.

 

BT Redcare currently provides alarm signalling to around 100,000 customers, ensuring that intruder and fire alarm systems effectively communicate with key holders and alarm monitoring centres in the event of an emergency. However, with the imminent closure of this service, affected customers must find a suitable alternative to maintain their security and compliance with insurance requirements.

GBIS unveils the transformed Ray Kitchen Lounge at Colne Cricket Club

GB Integrated Systems is proud to unveil Colne Cricket Club’s all-new sponsor’s lounge! In February, GBIS embarked on a mission to revamp the outdated space, now proudly named the Ray Kitchen Lounge, in honour of the late Ray Kitchen—a much-loved member, Chairman, President, generous sponsor, and committee member.

Our team dedicated themselves to this project, ensuring no detail was overlooked. The GBIS team along with local tradespeople, are thrilled with the outcome. The result is a modern, welcoming space designed for local businesses, families, and friends to gather, sponsor matches, and enjoy everything the local cricket club has to offer.

We extend our thanks to everyone involved in this project.  Your support and hard work have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.

Job Title: Fire and Security Service and Commissioning Engineer (Multi-Disciplined)

GB Integrated Systems Limited has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated and committed individual to join our team as a Systems Service Engineer. (Fire, Security, Communications, Audio Visual, Automation)

Based in the North West, GB Integrated Systems Ltd offers complete design, consultation, supply, installation and maintenance of all types of electronic fire, security, data, audiovisual and automation systems across all market sectors.

The successful candidate will be required to commission, service and repair the systems mentioned above and associated equipment in accordance with current codes of practice, manufacturer’s requirements, and British and European Standards.
Travel and some working away are prerequisites for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain a wide range of fire and security equipment.
  • To extend existing systems as part of small/remedial works packages.
  • Provide excellent service to customers, building solid working relationships.
  • Attending urgent service calls to meet our SLAs.
  • Fault finding and problem-solving when attending callouts/breakdowns.
  • Provide on-site technical support and solutions to customers during reactive and routine visits.
  • Complete all company paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements.
  • Be involved in a 24-hour emergency cover rota. Currently, this equates to 1 week in every 4.
  • Advise customers on new products and services to improve efficiency.

 

Essential Skills Requirements

  • IT Literate, Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and self-motivated
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • DBS clearance (for working in schools)
  • Full Security Screening

Desirable Skills Requirements
