Based in the Northwest, GB Integrated Systems Ltd. offers comprehensive services encompassing design, consultation, supply, installation, and maintenance of all electronic systems including fire, security, comms, audiovisual, lighting control, and automation systems across all market sectors.

The successful candidate will be required to survey, install, inspect and test electrical systems and associated equipment under current codes of practice, manufacturer’s requirements, British and European Standards.

Travel and occasional working away are prerequisites to this role.      

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Survey a site, prepare and advise the office on the requirements.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring
  • Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts with the office.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and domestic electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards, including in fire alarms and emergency lighting
  • Rewire faulty electrical systems, such as lighting, heating systems, and alarms
  • Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements
  • Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction
  • Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions
  • Install electrical systems to wiring regulations
  • Provide professional assessments and advice for customers

Essential Skills Requirements

 

  • Minimum 10 years industry experience is essential
  • Possess working knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 17th/ 18th Edition, Inspection & Testing Certificate
  • IT Literate, Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and self-motivated
  • Full UK driving licence
  • DBS clearance (essential for working in schools)

Desirable Skills Requirements

 

  • Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements
  • Valid CSCS / ECS card
  • IPAF / PASMA / Asbestos Awareness certification
